Fail-Safe worker cleaning machinery.

Fail-Safe ventures into the world of Industrial Cleaning.

20221022_172208

The month of October was a busy one for us!

A new dairy-processing plant is being built south of Amarillo, and Fail-Safe was called in to detail clean some equipment before testing began. The blue “cap” you see on the right is what we had to look for. There were hundreds of them, and the connecting parts (valves, hinges, stems, etc.) all had to be cleaned as well. This was a huge, two-week job, and we learned quite a bit while we were working it.

It’s difficult to tell in the photo above, but this worker is actually about thirty feet above ground, connected to a secure fixture by a full-body harness and a lanyard.

What an exciting and challenging opportunity this was for us! We’re now cleaning their offices regularly and are scheduled to resume cleaning inside the plant in December. This has been a great introduction to cleaning in an industrial environment.

What Fail-Safe is doing about Covid-19.

There’s been a good deal of polarization regarding Covid-19 here in Amarillo. Whatever your views are on the vaccines or the virus itself, Fail-Safe Cleaning Solutions has chosen to keep its customers safe at all costs, regardless of public opinion on the matter. This means that we are doing our work and walkthroughs after hours whenever possible, along with conducting meetings via video chat. While working, we are wearing gloves and N95 masks at all times and using commercial-grade disinfectants to keep restrooms and high-traffic areas as safe and clean as possible.

We understand there are those who feel very strongly that the seriousness and legitimacy of the pandemic has been overstated and even misrepresented, and while we take no stance on the issue itself, we are choosing to err on the side of caution to keep our customers safe. We ask that our customers and potential customers allow us to separate ourselves from the politics of the issues surrounding Covid-19 while still observing safety measures as a precaution.

We sincerely thank you all for your understanding.

From Tashia, June 27th 2018:

“We’re a group of volunteers and starting a new scheme in our community. Your site provided us with valuable info to work on. You’ve done a formidable job and our entire community will be thankful to you.”

From Margarito, June 22nd 2018:

“With [having] so much written content do you ever run into any problems of [plagiarism] or copyright violation? My site has a lot of unique content I’ve either created myself or outsourced but it appears a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my agreement. Do you know any methods to help reduce content from being ripped off? I’d really appreciate it.”

Margarito, here is a great starting point for learning about protecting your content. While this deals with the legal aspect of it, it doesn’t mention technology for preventing the actual copying of your protected content. Articles like this one discuss the ability to insert javascript that will disable the copy function when users are browsing your site, but as several users note, the technologically-minded will likely find a way to bypass this with little trouble. Try searching for plug-ins that offer additional security. Protecting your content legally will at least give you recourse should you discover that someone has been republishing your work. Good luck!

From Kristi, May 26th 2018:

“Thank you for another informative web site. Where else could I get that kind of info written in such an ideal way? I’ve a project that I’m just now working on, and I’ve been on the look out for such information.”

More to come soon!

Thanks to NAPA in Hereford!

Sincere thanks to Austin of NAPA Auto Parts in Hereford, TX for hiring Fail-Safe for our Stripping and Waxing services. Link: NAPA in Hereford, TX

The job was roughly 3,660 square feet. With a crew of one, starting on Saturday evening, the floor was completely stripped and waxed in about 18 hours total. Austin was ready to start getting things back on to the floor by Sunday afternoon.

We’d also like to extend our appreciation to the hard-working crew at NAPA who spent the time and energy getting all the stock moved off of the sales floor and into the back for us. It’s things like that which allow a floor technician to come in and get right to work doing what they do: Stripping and Waxing. Thanks, everyone! If you guys have as much consideration for your customers as you did for Fail-Safe Cleaning Solutions, I’m sure there’s no better place in Hereford for auto and truck parts!

A good deal of what you see here was moved in preparation.

A story about the other guys.

A customer contacted us for stripping and waxing services in December of last year. The first night working on the job, we immediately realized there was an uncommon amount of wax on the floor.

As it turned out, wax had been applied to the floor on a weekly basis for roughly five years. A situation like this can be a floor technician’s worst nightmare. The intensity of the labor and amount of time and materials required is greatly increased.

Never one to back out of a tough job, Fail-Safe began negotiating for a price adjustment to compensate for the extra labor and materials. Naturally, the customer wanted to shop around and get the best deal possible.

One of the big companies here in Amarillo quoted them a price that was over two times what Fail-Safe had proposed. Without going into the specifics, here’s how their pricing compared:

The other guys: $1.37 per square foot, estimated completion time of three days

Fail-Safe: $0.56 per square foot, estimated completion time of 4-5 days

The customer decided to go with Fail-Safe. How did it turn out?Tough strip and wax job

Commercial stripping and waxingThree days later, with a crew of one and at under half the cost of the competition, Fail-Safe leaves the customer with a beautiful floor to be proud of.

We’ve wondered ever since, why did the other company charge so much? Is it because they were going to hire a whole crew to help move furniture? Was it to cover the cost of labor for a whole crew to work three days? Were they going to use a more expensive product to strip the floors? We’ll never know, but it’s clear that in this situation, our competition couldn’t match our pricing.

But we were able to match their quality.
